Meet Dr. Rikhil D. Patel, Podiatrist, Podiatric Physician & Surgeon
Dr. Rikhil D. Patel
Dr. Patel specializes in the treatment of the full spectrum of foot and ankle conditions. His special areas of interest include:
Regenerative Medicine: Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and/or Amniotic Stem Cells are used to help aid with tendon, ligament, muscle tears, joint arthritis, and post operative healing.
MSK Ultrasound: Utilizing ultrasound in the office helps quickly target a painful area and determine if there is a cyst, tear, foreign body, inflammation, stress fracture, fracture, spur, or lesion. Ultrasound can also be used to guide our injections to the exact location we need to get the job done.
Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS): MIS can be used for a Bunionectomy, spur resection and tendon scar tissue debridements. Post procedure there is minimal scaring, immediate weightbearing allowance and less scar tissue formation. Many times only a temporary pin is needed.
Prosthetics and Orthotics: Having a biomedical engineering background, I have great interest in non surgical approaches to minimizing pain with orthotics, bracing, and GAIT adjustments.
Teaching and Community Outreach: I love to teach students, residents, fellows, and most importantly all of my patients themselves. Empowering the community with a better understanding of why they are having pain and what their options are makes the path to recovery alot smoother for everyone.
Local Anesthesia Procedures: I like to keep things simple for both my patients and myself. Some procedures such as hammertoe corrections, minor hardware removal and local excisions of a soft tissue mass or cyst can be performed in our Ambulatory Surgical Center or in office. This prevents the patients from having to undergo general anesthesia.
Sports Medicine & Trauma: Falls, tendon tears, ligament injuries and fractures suffered from exercise or sport, or even a random accident while walking. I take pride in fixing it appropriately and getting you back on your feet as safe as possible.
